How the camp planner works
Camping is one of the new group systems in WoW: Forever: at the campfire every player places one camp object from their profession, and whoever sits at the camp for a minute receives the buffs of all objects. The planner shows you in advance what your group can build, which buffs you end up with and what you need to buy. The in-game rules are explained in the camping guide.
What the planner calculates
- Campfires: The Basic Campfire has 3 slots and needs Cooking 1. You learn the Journeyman Campfire (5 slots) at Cooking 90 and can place it from 140; the Expert Campfire (10 slots) is learned at 200 and placed from 220. The planner uses the best cooking skill in the group and warns when it is not enough.
- Camp objects: Every profession has objects with their own skill requirement. For each player the planner lists only what their professions and skills can build, and marks objects another player already places.
- Buffs: Buff values depend on character level. Set the level at the top and the planner shows the values for exactly that level, including the level from which a buff works at all.
- Stacking notes: Camp buffs are variants of class buffs and do not stack with them. Enter each player's class and the planner tells you which buff becomes redundant because of a class in the group.
- Shopping list and timing: All materials of the chosen objects are added up. You also see how long everyone has to sit at the fire, how long the buffs last and when the shared cooldown ends.
Step by step
- Pick a campfire. It decides how many camp objects fit.
- Set the character level the buff values should apply to – for example 60 for a raid or your current level while leveling.
- Enter class, professions and skill for every player. "Add player" lets you plan up to three players in one camp.
- Tick the camp object each player should place. One object per player, because every placed object starts the shared cooldown.
- Check the buffs, the stacking notes and the shopping list. Problems such as missing cooking skill or more objects than the fire holds show up as warnings.
- Click "Share camp": the link contains the whole plan, so your group can open it directly. "Reset" clears the camp.
Practical tips
- Fill gaps instead of doubling up: first check which class buffs your group is missing, then pick the camp objects that provide exactly those buffs.
- Cooking is the key: only the Expert Campfire gives you ten slots. One player with high cooking is enough, because the fire is always built by the best cook in the group.
- A higher tier of the same profession goes over the lower object without using another slot and keeps its buff, so a tier 2 or 3 camp station pays off twice.
- Plan the camp before a raid or a longer dungeon run. Because of the shared cooldown, a second camp between two bosses is not worth it.
- Enter the classes even though they do not matter for building – only then can the planner check whether a camp buff collides with a class buff.
Camp planner FAQ
How many players can I add to the planner?
Up to three players, each with any number of professions. The planner allows one camp object per player, because every placed object triggers the shared 60-minute cooldown.
Why does the planner show no camp objects for a player?
Then the entered skill is not enough for any object of their professions. The first camp objects require skill 20 – check that profession and skill are entered correctly.
How long do the camp buffs last?
The planner shows the shortest duration of all chosen objects. You receive the buffs after everyone involved has sat at the campfire for 60 seconds.
Do camp buffs stack with class buffs?
No. Every camp buff is a variant of a class buff, for example the First Aid Kit and Power Word: Fortitude. The planner lists such conflicts under "Stacking notes" once classes are entered.
Can I share my camp with the group?
Yes. "Share camp" copies a link that contains campfire, level, players, professions and objects. Whoever opens it sees the same plan and can keep adjusting it.
