Talent Calculator

Plan the talent trees of all 9 classes for WoW: Forever and share your build as a link.

How the talent calculator works

WoW: Forever keeps the Classic talent system: three trees per class, 7 rows, one point per level from level 10 and at most 51 points at level 60. The trees themselves were reworked substantially – almost every class has new and changed talents. The calculator contains the Forever trees of all 9 classes (client build 1.60.1) and checks with every click whether your build follows the rules.

The rules the calculator applies

  • Points: The first talent point comes at level 10, then one per level – 51 at level 60. For every build the calculator shows the character level you need for the points you spent.
  • Rows: Each row of a tree unlocks once 5 points sit in the rows above. You only reach the bottom row with many points in the same tree.
  • Prerequisites: Some talents require a certain rank in another talent. In Forever a few of these arrows point sideways to a talent in the same row. Locked talents are greyed out and name the reason when tapped.
  • Careful removal: You can only remove a point when no talent in a lower row and no dependent talent still needs it. The calculator blocks everything else instead of breaking the build.
  • Legacy perk "Talented": It grants talent points from level 9 down to level 5 – but never more than 51 in total. It does not affect the level the calculator shows.

Step by step

  1. Pick a class above. Every class page shows its three trees as tabs, plus the points per tree and the distribution, e.g. "31/20/0".
  2. Left click a talent to add a rank, right click or Shift-click to remove one. With the keyboard: Enter adds, Shift+Enter, Delete or Minus removes.
  3. Tap a talent to read the description of the current and the next rank – talents with the "New in Forever" badge do not exist in Classic Era.
  4. Keep an eye on "Remaining" and "Required level". For a leveling build, spend as many points as your level allows.
  5. Or load one of the 79 verified builds from Forever guides: pick specialization and purpose (raid, dungeon, PvP, leveling), then adjust.
  6. Click "Copy link". The build sits in the "b" parameter of the address; whoever opens the link sees exactly your distribution.

Practical tips

  • Plan the must-have talents of your main tree's bottom row first, then fill upwards – that way you notice early whether the points for the second tree suffice.
  • From level 40 you can learn a second talent distribution at your class trainer for 10 gold and switch outside combat. Save two links, for example raid and leveling.
  • For leveling builds the recommended builds show the order of points level by level – useful when you do not want to respec while leveling.
  • Each specialization has its own respec fee, which slowly drops back to 1 gold over time. Test big changes here rather than at the trainer.
  • The distribution from the calculator fits the raid setup planner and the sign-up in the raid planner: there you enter class and specialization of your character.

Talent calculator FAQ

How many talent points do you get in WoW: Forever?

51 at level 60. The first point comes at level 10, then one per level. The Legacy perk "Talented" moves the first points forward but does not raise the total.

Why can't I click a talent?

Either points are still missing in the rows above (5 per row), a prerequisite talent is not high enough, or all 51 points are spent. Tap the talent – the calculator names the reason.

Is there dual spec?

Yes, from level 40 at your class trainer for 10 gold. You can switch between both distributions outside combat and battlegrounds.

Where do the recommended builds come from?

From linked Forever guides. Every build was checked against the current talent data and rules; builds that no longer fit the trees are left out, and the reason is stated.

What happens if a shared link does not match the data?

When talent trees change, an old link can become invalid. The calculator then discards it with a notice and starts empty instead of showing a wrong build.
