Recommended builds

Checked builds from Forever guides for each specialization. Pick a purpose to load the build into the calculator – then adjust and share it.

Choosing a build replaces the points in the calculator.

How we check the builds

Builds are taken from the talent-calculator links in the linked guides and decoded by position (row, column). Each one was checked against our Forever talent data and rules (51 points, 5 points per row, prerequisites); builds that do not fit the current talent trees were left out. The point order comes from the guide's calculator link or its level table and is only shown when every step is legal.

Affliction (0)

Demonology (0)

Destruction (0)

Left click: add rank · Right click or Shift-click: remove rank · Keyboard: Enter adds, Shift+Enter, Delete or Minus removes.

Dual spec from level 40

From level 40 you can learn a second talent setup and switch between them – plan one build for raids and one for levelling or PvP, for example.

Warlock talents: trees, roles and what is new

Cloth caster who commands demons, curses enemies and drains life. Affliction relies on damage over time, Demonology on demons, Destruction on fire and shadow nukes. The calculator contains the three Forever talent trees of the Warlock – Affliction, Demonology, and Destruction – with 52 talents in total, 17 of them new in Forever (client build 1.60.1). You get one point per level from level 10, 51 at level 60.

Specializations and roles

Affliction (Damage): 17 talents, 5 of them new in Forever.
Demonology (Damage): 19 talents, 7 of them new in Forever.
Destruction (Damage): 16 talents, 5 of them new in Forever.

The calculator counts the points per tree and shows the distribution, e.g. "31/20/0". If no tree is clearly ahead, the build counts as hybrid. The role your character takes in a raid follows the tree with the most points – that is what you enter as specialization when signing up in the raid planner.

What is new for the Warlock in Forever

Besides the talents, Forever changed the class itself. From our class data:

New ability: Bane of Agony (level 8)
New ability: Incinerate (level 50)
New ability: Bane of Doom (level 60)
Reworked talent trees: 17 new and 34 changed talents compared with Classic Era
New race options: Troll

Recommended builds and further help

For the Warlock there are 9 verified builds from Forever guides, covering Raid, PvP, and Leveling. Load them via "Recommended builds"; leveling builds also show the order of points level by level.

More about the class: the Warlock guide with specs, changes and tier placement, the class page in the database with all races and abilities, and the rankings.

How to use the calculator

Pick the tab of the tree you want to start with. Left click adds a rank to a talent, right click or Shift-click removes one; with the keyboard use Enter and Shift+Enter.
Each row unlocks once 5 points sit in the rows above. Locked talents name the reason when tapped – missing points or a prerequisite talent.
Keep an eye on "Remaining" and "Required level". For a leveling build, spend only as many points as your level allows.
"Copy link" shares the build; it is part of the address. From level 40 a second link for dual spec is worth having.
