Legacy Planner
Legacy Challenges earn account-wide points. Every character spends them in its own Legacy trees. Your progress is only saved in this browser.

How the Legacy planner works
In WoW: Forever, Legacy replaces achievements: 65 challenges award account-wide points – 65 at launch – and every character spends at most 16 of them in the three Legacy trees Professions, Adventure, and Resourcefulness. The planner keeps both together: you tick off completed challenges, see your progress towards the 4 rewards and plan each character's trees. The Legacy guide explains all rules, nodes and values.
What the planner calculates
- Account points: Every ticked challenge counts its points; the planner shows your total against all 65 known challenges and the 65 points available at launch. While the list is still being completed, you can also enter your points manually.
- Rewards: The rewards depend on the total number of points earned, not on the active ones: Holstered Replica Ironforge Air Rifle (15), Spectral Bear Cub (25), Spectral Bear Tabard (40), and Reins of the Spectral Bear (55). The planner shows how many points are missing to the next one.
- Budget per character: A character can have at most 16 active points – and never more than your account has earned. Every rank of a node costs one point.
- Requirements: Some nodes require a fully ranked neighbouring node or a certain number of points spent in the tiers above. The planner locks such nodes and names the reason; placeholders that arrive with later updates stay locked.
- Saving and sharing: Challenges and characters live only in your browser. "Copy link" shares one character's plan; whoever opens it can take it over as a new character.
Step by step
- Under "Legacy challenges", tick what you have already done – class levels, profession skills, PvP ranks, dungeons and raids. The search filters the list, "Show completed" brings ticked ones back.
- Check "Account points" and "Rewards" to see where you stand and which reward comes next.
- Under "Characters", add a character with name and class. You can plan up to 20 characters and switch between them.
- Spend their points in the three trees: left click or + for one more rank, right click or − for one less. The planner shows the description of the next rank for every node.
- Keep an eye on "points spent". If a plan exceeds the budget – for example after you unticked a challenge – the planner marks the excess until you remove ranks.
- Copy the link of the character plan and send it to your guild, or keep it yourself as a backup in case you switch browsers.
Practical tips
- The biggest block of points are the classes: level 25, 45 and 60 with each of the nine classes. If you play alts, you collect the points for the rewards almost on the side.
- Plan a separate character per play style: leveling (rested bonus, early talent points), professions and gold (more rare materials, cheaper vendors, more Merchant's Favor) or raid and group (longer camp benefits, shorter cooldown for camp objects).
- Set characters up in the planner before you respec in game: redistributing is only possible at class trainers, and the cost is not known yet.
- Locked nodes name the reason when tapped. If "points spent in the tiers above" are missing, fill the upper nodes of the same tree first.
- Hardcore players: points earned there also count on normal realms, but not the other way round. So tick everything in the planner that you achieved on any realm.
Legacy planner FAQ
How many Legacy points are there and how many can I use?
At launch 65 points from 65 challenges are available, and they apply to the whole account. A character can only have 16 points active, though; all further points count for the rewards only.
From when can I use Legacy in game?
As soon as a character reaches level 25. The Legacy window opens with the Y key by default, and the rewards are claimed from Innkeeper Wiley in Ratchet.
Why is a node locked in the planner?
Either the character's budget is used up, a prerequisite node is not fully ranked yet, points spent in the tiers above are missing, or the node is a placeholder that only arrives in a later update.
Where are my challenges and characters stored?
Only in your browser. Nothing is sent to the server. If you switch browsers or devices, back up each character plan via "Copy link" first.
Can I take over a shared plan?
Yes. When you open a shared link, the planner offers to take the plan over as a new character. Your existing characters and challenges stay unchanged.
