Rulesets & regions

Forever uses a few large mega-realms: one per ruleset in every region. The choice decides who you can play with.

Instead of many small servers, Forever has one mega-realm per ruleset in every region. 4 rulesets are available at launch, 1 more follow later. The choice matters more than in Classic: groups across rulesets are not possible, and regions are separate. So agree on ruleset and region with your guild and friends beforehand – more in the launch checklist.

Good to know

  • Mega-realms: each region and ruleset gets large, merged realms instead of many small servers.
  • No groups across rulesets: players on a PvP realm cannot group with players on a Normal or RP realm. Pick the matching ruleset in the raid planner.
  • Regions are separate: players in Europe and the Americas cannot play together.
  • Hardcore arrives after launch. Death is permanent there.

Rulesets

Which ruleset suits you?

Normal is the choice for players who put PvE first and want PvP only by choice. PvP keeps open-world PvP on permanently – enemies can attack you while questing and at your camp. Roleplay and Roleplay PvP add strict naming and behaviour rules.

Hardcore only arrives after launch: death is permanent there. If you want to play from day one, pick one of the other rulesets first. The date is on the roadmap.

In the raid planner you filter events by region and ruleset so you only see groups you can actually join.
