New in Forever

New and newly trainable abilities

7 abilities are new at the class trainer or trainable for the first time:

  • One-Handed Weapon Specialization (level 1, now trainable): Increases the damage you deal with one-handed melee weapons by 2%.
  • Holy Strike (level 6, new): An instant strike that causes 25% weapon damage plus an additional 11 to 14 as Holy damage.
  • Seal of Fury (level 10, new): Fills you with divine fury for 30 sec, causing melee attacks to deal an additional 6 Holy damage.
  • Blessing of Kings (level 20, now trainable): Places a Blessing on the friendly target, increasing total stats by 10% for 1 hour.
  • Voice of Truth (level 20, new): Grants you immunity to Silence and Interrupt effects for 6 sec.
  • Judgement of Fury (level 25, new): Judge the target, dealing Holy damage.
  • Light's Vigil (level 50, new): Applies Light's Vigil to the target for 30 sec.

Reworked talent trees

Of 51 talents, 20 are new and 31 changed compared with Classic Era (renamed, moved or reworked). Examples of new talents:

  • Reverence (Holy, at 2/2): Allows 30% of your Mana regeneration to continue while casting.
  • Sacred Duty (Protection, at 2/2): Reduces the cooldown of your Divine Shield, Divine Protection, and Templar's Bulwark spells by 60 sec, and reduces the duration of Forbearance by 10 sec.
  • Sanctified Judgement (Retribution, at 3/3): Gives your Judgement ability a 100% chance to return 60% of the Mana cost of the judged seal.

The full tree with every rank is in the Paladin talent calculator.

Tier list ratings

As of 1 November 2026. The tiers combine several tier lists and a level-60 simulation (median, details on the rankings page).

PvE dungeon DPS (beta lvl 30)RetributionBB–A3
PvP (battleground/open world)HolyAA2
PvP (battleground/open world)RetributionBB–A2

Reasons in brief:

  • Retribution, PvE DPS (raid): The simulation (72%) and RankedBoost say A.
  • Holy, PvE healers: Excellent tank and single-target healing (Holy Shock, Light's Vigil).
  • Protection, PvE tanks: Widest spread (C–S): the level-30 lists praise a real taunt (Seal of Fury), Consecration for packs and Templar's Bulwark.
  • Holy, PvP (battleground/open world): Unanimously A: Holy Shock heals instantly, Voice of Truth grants silence immunity.
  • Retribution, PvP (battleground/open world): Repentance controls, but the beta nerf to Intellect-based spell power holds back burst (SeeMeta B).
  • Protection, PvP (battleground/open world): Unanimously B: Templar's Bulwark and a shorter Hammer of Justice make it tough, but it kills slowly.

Beta/PTR state before the 4 November 2026 launch. The sources rely on the level-30 beta, talent analysis and simulations – there are no raid logs yet. Ratings will change after launch.

Checked builds from Forever guides (as of 2 November 2026). The links open them in the talent calculator, with reasoning, sources and point order.

  • Holy: The Holy builds in Wowhead's guides do not fit the current Forever talent tree (e.g.
  • Protection: Protection level 60 (Raid, 0/35/16) – Mobalytics' level-60 tank build: deep Protection with 16 points in Retribution for Deflection, Improved Judgement, Conviction, Sanctified Judgement, Pursuit of Justice and Sacred Arbiter. Also: Protection leveling (Leveling).
  • Retribution: Retribution leveling (Leveling, 12/8/31) – Classic two-hander Retribution for questing: Deflection, Conviction and Improved Judgement first, Seal of Command at 22, Vengeance at 30, Champion of the Light from 35 and Unsealed Wrath at 40.

Context

The tiers above rest on the beta (capped at level 30), talent analysis and simulations – raid logs only exist once the raids open on 9 December 2026. If you want to play a Paladin, pick the specialization mainly by role and feel, and read the tiers as a snapshot.

For finding groups, keep the role balance in mind: tanks and healers are usually in higher demand in dungeons and raids than damage dealers. Plan the talent tree in the talent calculator and share it with your group as a link; from level 40, dual talent specialization lets you keep two builds.
