- Lacerate (level 30, new): Wounds the target causing them to bleed for 147 damage over 21 sec.
- Summon Hawk (level 36, new): Command a hawk to dive-bomb your targeted enemy, dealing [47 + (Ranged Attack Power * (0.05))] Physical damage and continuing its assault for 18 sec.
- Sniper Shot (level 48, new): A long-range shot that deals ranged damage plus 225 and increases the range of your next 3 Shots by 10 yards for 10 sec.

Tier list ratings
As of 1 November 2026. The tiers combine several tier lists and a level-60 simulation (median, details on the rankings page).
| Category | Specialization | Tier | Range | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PvE DPS (raid) | Survival | A | B–S | 3 |
| PvE DPS (raid) | Marksmanship | A | A | 3 |
| PvE DPS (raid) | Beast Mastery | A | A | 3 |
| PvE dungeon DPS (beta lvl 30) | Marksmanship | S | S | 3 |
| PvE dungeon DPS (beta lvl 30) | Beast Mastery | S | A–S | 3 |
| PvE dungeon DPS (beta lvl 30) | Survival | A | A–S | 3 |
| PvP (battleground/open world) | Marksmanship | A | A | 2 |
| PvP (battleground/open world) | Survival | B | B–A | 2 |
| PvP (battleground/open world) | Beast Mastery | B | B–A | 2 |
Reasons in brief:
- Survival, PvE DPS (raid): Leads the MythicSim simulation by a wide margin (1,254 DPS), also in the older snapshot.
- Marksmanship, PvE DPS (raid): All sources agree: safe ranged damage (Sniper Shot, Ranged Weapon Specialization), 76% in the simulation.
- Beast Mastery, PvE DPS (raid): Unanimously A.
- Marksmanship, PvP (battleground/open world): Unanimously A: Scatter Shot and Improved Concussive Shot control; Auto Shot requires standing still.
- Survival, PvP (battleground/open world): Traps and Deterrence for control; SeeMeta B because its damage talents need melee range.
- Beast Mastery, PvP (battleground/open world): Intimidation stuns, Bestial Wrath gives a burst window; RankedBoost B, SeeMeta A.
Beta/PTR state before the 4 November 2026 launch. The sources rely on the level-30 beta, talent analysis and simulations – there are no raid logs yet. Ratings will change after launch.
Recommended builds
Checked builds from Forever guides (as of 2 November 2026). The links open them in the talent calculator, with reasoning, sources and point order.
- Beast Mastery: Beast Mastery PvE (raid & dungeons) (Raid, 31/16/4) – Focuses on pet damage and mana: Lethal Attacks, Careful Aim and Trueshot Aura in Marksmanship also raise your pet's damage through stat transfer. Also: Beast Mastery PvP (PvP), Beast Mastery leveling (Leveling).
- Marksmanship: Marksmanship PvE (raid & dungeons) (Raid, 5/41/5) – Pure ranged damage and mana management: outside Marksmanship only Deadly Aspects and Improved Tracking are taken. Also: Marksmanship PvP (PvP).
- Survival: Survival melee PvE (raid & dungeons) (Raid, 16/8/27) – Melee Survival focuses on melee damage and mana. Also: Survival weaving PvE (raid & dungeons) (Raid), Survival PvP (PvP), Survival leveling (Leveling).
Context
The tiers above rest on the beta (capped at level 30), talent analysis and simulations – raid logs only exist once the raids open on 9 December 2026. If you want to play a Hunter, pick the specialization mainly by role and feel, and read the tiers as a snapshot.
For finding groups, keep the role balance in mind: tanks and healers are usually in higher demand in dungeons and raids than damage dealers. Plan the talent tree in the talent calculator and share it with your group as a link; from level 40, dual talent specialization lets you keep two builds.
