New in Forever

New and newly trainable abilities

8 abilities are new at the class trainer or trainable for the first time:

  • Fire Nova (level 12, new): Instantly inflicts 32 to 38 fire damage to enemies within 10 yd of your active Fire totem.
  • Call of the Elements (level 20, new): Simultaneously places up to 4 totems specified in the Totem Bar.
  • Totemic Recall (level 20, new): Returns your totems to the earth, giving you 25% of the mana required to cast each totem destroyed by Totemic Recall.
  • Totemic Projection (level 22, new): Relocates your active totems to the specified location.
  • Call of the Ancestors (level 30, new): Simultaneously places up to 4 totems specified in the Totem Bar.
  • Call of the Spirits (level 40, new): Simultaneously places up to 4 totems specified in the Totem Bar.
  • Lava Burst (level 40, new): You hurl molten lava at the target, dealing 150 to 192 Fire damage.
  • Riptide (level 50, new): Heals a friendly target for 615 to 676, an additional 575 over 15 sec, and increases the effectiveness of your Chain Heal casts directly on that target by 25%.

Reworked talent trees

Of 50 talents, 12 are new and 33 changed compared with Classic Era (renamed, moved or reworked). Examples of new talents:

  • Earthbound (Elemental, 1/1): Your Earthbind Totem Immobilizes nearby targets for 5 sec when cast.
  • Mental Dexterity (Enhancement, at 3/3): Increases your Attack Power by an amount equal to 100% of your Intellect.
  • Mindfulness (Restoration, at 3/3): Allows 50% of your Mana regeneration to continue while casting.

Tier list ratings

As of 1 November 2026. The tiers combine several tier lists and a level-60 simulation (median, details on the rankings page).

Reasons in brief:

  • Enhancement, PvE DPS (raid): The simulation (64%) and RankedBoost say B; SeeMeta rates Enhancement A as a strong melee hybrid (Rage of the Farseer, Maelstrom Weapon).
  • Elemental, PvE DPS (raid): Strongest conflict: SeeMeta and RankedBoost say A (Elemental Mastery, Elemental Fury), while the simulation has Elemental last at 49%.
  • Restoration, PvE healers: Three of five sources say S, including Wowhead's newest level-60 list: Chain Heal with Riptide, raid-wide totems and Mana Tide.
  • Enhancement, PvE tanks: Not a full tank spec: good threat (Rockbiter Weapon, Earth Shock) but mail armor and no real taunt.
  • Elemental, PvP (battleground/open world): Unanimously A: Elemental Mastery speeds up casts, Earthbound turns a slow into a root.
  • Enhancement, PvP (battleground/open world): Unanimously B: Maelstrom Weapon for burst, but neither gap closer nor slow.
  • Restoration, PvP (battleground/open world): Nature's Swiftness and Riptide save even through interrupts; RankedBoost B.

Beta/PTR state before the 4 November 2026 launch. The sources rely on the level-30 beta, talent analysis and simulations – there are no raid logs yet. Ratings will change after launch.

Context

The tiers above rest on the beta (capped at level 30), talent analysis and simulations – raid logs only exist once the raids open on 9 December 2026. If you want to play a Shaman, pick the specialization mainly by role and feel, and read the tiers as a snapshot.

For finding groups, keep the role balance in mind: tanks and healers are usually in higher demand in dungeons and raids than damage dealers. Plan the talent tree in the talent calculator and share it with your group as a link; from level 40, dual talent specialization lets you keep two builds.
