Priest talents: trees, roles and what is new

Cloth caster who heals with Holy and Discipline or deals shadow damage over time with Shadow. Forever adds abilities such as Penance, Prayer of Mending and Shadow Word: Death. The calculator contains the three Forever talent trees of the Priest – Discipline, Holy, and Shadow – with 52 talents in total, 14 of them new in Forever (client build 1.60.1). You get one point per level from level 10, 51 at level 60.

Specializations and roles

  • Discipline (Healer): 18 talents, 7 of them new in Forever.
  • Holy (Healer): 17 talents, 3 of them new in Forever.
  • Shadow (Damage): 17 talents, 4 of them new in Forever.

The calculator counts the points per tree and shows the distribution, e.g. "31/20/0". If no tree is clearly ahead, the build counts as hybrid. The role your character takes in a raid follows the tree with the most points – that is what you enter as specialization when signing up in the raid planner.

How to use the calculator

  1. Pick the tab of the tree you want to start with. Left click adds a rank to a talent, right click or Shift-click removes one; with the keyboard use Enter and Shift+Enter.
  2. Each row unlocks once 5 points sit in the rows above. Locked talents name the reason when tapped – missing points or a prerequisite talent.
  3. Keep an eye on "Remaining" and "Required level". For a leveling build, spend only as many points as your level allows.
  4. "Copy link" shares the build; it is part of the address. From level 40 a second link for dual spec is worth having.
